DealWatch, the M&A analysis arm of ISI Emerging Markets, a leading business data and research provider on the emerging markets, with coverage spanning across more than 70 emerging market countries, is seeking an M&A reporter for Ukraine. In this challenging role, your task will be to track down and report on M&A and ECM activity. An excellent command of the English language, investigative skills, as well as solid understanding of corporate finance, are essential.
M&A Reporter for Ukraine
Your main tasks will include: • Monitoring M&A (including Private Equity and Venture Capital) and Equity Capital Market developments; • Building a network with executives and corporate advisors active on the M&A market, specifically through attending conferences, making phone calls and interviews; • Writing news based on information obtained from own sources; • Writing news by expanding on information found in mass media by means of interviews with dealmakers and checking company websites and financial reports; • Checking progress on rumored, negotiated and announced deals; • Finding background information about companies involved in M&A deals; • Estimating possible targets and possible buyers in selected industries; obtaining comments from sector experts; • Writing special reports and assisting other ISI teams depending on client demand.
The ideal candidate should have the following attributes: • Excellent English language skills; • Preferably, unhindered command of Russian and Ukrainian languages; • Economic or journalistic education; • At least 2 years working experience as an economic journalist; experience as an economic/company analyst, investment banker or adviser is also acceptable • Strong communication skills; ability to network with executives and corporate advisors; • Thorough understanding of corporate finance and economics; • Strong writing skills; • Good analytical skills
